Very excited to share our new work out today @cellpress.bsky.social. Here, we propose that meningeal mast cells regulate brain inflammation after stroke by coordinating immune infiltration from the skull bone marrow, through the meninges, and into the brain!

Coastal and ocean cleanups are more critical than ever - but are also the last resort. Reducing fossil fuels, plastics, sewage, fertilizer, and pesticides, all while advocating for policies that protect marine habitats contribute to the health of our oceans. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #CoastalCleanup

Plastic pollution poses a significant threat to sea turtles, as they can become entangled in plastic debris and ingest both plastics and microplastics. Juvenile sea turtles are especially susceptible to the ingestion of microplastics. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #TurtleTuesday #OceanPlastic

I really hope this doesn’t turn into another global pandemic. Hopefully WHO can identify & contain the cause. If we have learned anything from COVID it should be that early action can make a huge difference. RFK, Oz, and other health nominees give me way less hope 😬

Meaning C19 can directly make the cells lining your blood vessels less flexible which messes with the structure inside these cells& in turn affects how well vessels work. Leading to poor blood flow /other complications related to the cardiovascular system. #C19 #longcovid #medsky #health #science

The findings presented in this paper provide the first evidence to date that SARS-CoV-2 infection directly alters endothelial elasticity, leading to cytoskeletal reorganization that is associated with the development of endothelial dysfunction.
