People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way.

This is not a hot take.

It's just plain common sense.

One of the NYPD brass said “this isn’t blue bloods” when explaining they can’t just immediately find the guy and I like that years of copaganda have set standards cops can’t meet and might be contributing to people’s correct perception that cops don’t effectively stop crime or find killers.

Remember the 14 women murdered on December 6, 1989, in the Montreal Massacre at École Polytechnique. Many of these were #WomenInSTEM.

Their lives were stolen by an incel whose regressive, misogynistic views are still held by some folks today.

It really is hard to understand how you can make a plant that grows naturally in the wild illegal.

The issue is not the plant medicine that has been used for centuries.

The issue is the greedy, gross American late stage capitalist system that pushes everything to the maximum simply for profit.
Traditional Thai medicine hailed as wonder drug in US comes with risks
Kratom has been used for centuries as a traditional medicine in South-East Asia, but as its popularity has soared in the United States, so too has the controversy around it.

Pete Hegseth worships at the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, led by “Doug Wilson, an untrained and self-proclaimed pastor who advocates for Christian nationalism…”

Wilson also wrote that “sexual violence is women's fault for not being submissive enough.”
In 2018, Hegseth's mother called him out as an "abuser" and asked him to "get some help."

Instead, he joined a church with a long history of shielding abusers, blaming victims, and saying men "dream of being rapists" because of feminism.
