Deinosuchus riograndensis, a robust, and very menacing 9+ meters long eusuchian from the cretaceous, with proportionately giant jaws compared to its body, it was very at home in water, including seas

Day 4 of #Croctober, still going strong
When you mention Sarcosuchus the thing that pops into most people's mind is the giant adult skulls that are so often displayed, but we actually also have remains of "juveniles" too

To brighten up a wet and rainy #FossilFriday, here's my take on the recently described drepanosaur Mirasaura grauvogeli. It's shown among the conifer Voltzia, a plant found in abundance in the same beds as Mirasaura. The pointed sail shape is based on fossil data...

I'm... genuinely astonished at how many people will throw up their hands and cry 'cruel!' over birds being ringed. And yet somehow I can tell at once that the same people won't have the least compunction about letting cats outdoors.

And that's how you integrate digital elements into an exhibition. Part of the temporary "China's Dinosaur World" at the Shanghai Natural History Museum, China. Closing this November.

Nice argument, unfortunately I portrayed you as the "everything here is wrong and bad"-dromeosaur and me as the "This is more like it"-dromeosaur.

Sketching Triceratops for a commission I am currently working on

These are sketches of Triceratops in various positions. It is always fun to go back to Triceratops

More @dinoconuk.bsky.social prints. This is it now, I promise.

This is Tupandactylus imperator, one of the most spectacular of all #pterosaurs. Some data exists about the crest pigments and the nature of the feather-like fibres on the head. More on this at #Patreon in the near future. #paleoart

Writing about #pterosaurs today, so here's a flying reptile-themed post for #FossilFriday: giant azhdarchid Hatzegopteryx alarms a dwarf titanosaur. The situation with Hateg titanosaurs is now much more complex than it once was, and this sauropod is now too big to be Magyarasaurus. #paleoart #sciart

Paranthropus aethiopicus. We go way back. Ever since as I read about the discovery the black skull KNM WT 17000 from one of the popular books by Richard Leakey I have been mesmorized by it. As a kid I even sculpted the skull from roma plastilina. Its just iconic and very intriguing specimen. #sciart

Oh, but this wasn't enough.

A new paper by Spiekman et al. now propose Longisquama is a drepanosauromorph --or simiosaur, whatever -- and this comes it more peculiarites. It makes other things MAKE SENSE, too. Those RIBS.
