For this paper, Yuri Damen grew crystals for the most-applied strained alkyne click reagents: DBCO (3077 literature references, left structure) and BCN (1680 literature references, right structure). Look how gorgeous they are!

Eerste beflijsters weer gezien in de uiterwaarden. Elk jaar trekken deze noordelijke (niet in NL) broedvogels weer door, in het voorjaar in april, in het najaar in en rond oktober (piek rond 11-10). Als je in halfopen landschap twee stukken hout tegen elkaar hoort slaan, kijk dan goed rond!

Time to leave Bolzano, and I do that with a sense of great admiration for the field of single molecule protein sequencing #SMPS2025. A superfast moving field, and I’m asked looking forward to the next edition in Thailand. Hopefully I can present our contributions then as well!

We only met once, in Wageningen, but your interaction with us made a lasting impression. Many of my students still wear their labcoat with your signature with pride. It was a great honor to have dined with you, and to share our scientific work. Rest in peace, Fraser!
