Correct. No one "made" the MAGA return happen except the people who actually voted for Trump and the officials who turned a blind eye to him.

They have agency and responsibility for their own actions and they alone own the results. Don't dare blame their victims.
We need to push back really hard against this rapidly coalescing “backlash” narrative that places the agency solely with traditionally marginalized and "activist" groups who are therefore ultimately at fault for causing a supposedly inevitable reaction, a predictable, near-automatic response.
I am worried this is going to become the conventional wisdom over the next four years: If those pesky college students and activists and SJWs hadn't over-reached, Trump II never would have happened.

It is nonsense.
