An important part of the job for any WH Press Secretary is to clean up remarks made by the president or offer explanation/context or apology when warranted. But Leavitt never does that. She always crafts a response that makes it even worse by adding her own toxic twist.

First electric cars and buses, now trucks: in the past we were often told that electric trucks would not be feasible.

It's sad but good that the largest group of tourists and travellers (Canadians) to the USA aren't going there. Not buying American brands. Not participating. Periodically we review but then someone like Pete Hoekstra (USA ambassador) stays in character and opens his mouth. Notwithstanding his boss.
