As spooky season lingers on, I’m thinking about the concept of Memento Mori (remember you will die). This ring has an incredible skeleton design on the outside, as a reminder to both the wearer and observer. Inside is an inscription for a departed loved one.

I love finding and collecting old reviews that have a touch of irony about them. This was written by one Paul Screeton, for the Hartlepool Northern Daily Mail. October 1977. Punk was not his 'thing'.

I was once whingeing to Paul McCartney that I'll always be known primarily for the Wombles. Straight-faced, without irony, he said, "Yeah, I have the same problem with The Beatles".😂

Re-Christmas battle for UK number 1. Wasn't Last Christmas the number 1 last Christmas? Or is Last Christmas the number 1, this Christmas? It seems like only Last Christmas that Last Christmas was number 1. I do wish they would change the record. Last Christmas, is just sooo last Christmas.

A lot of people will tell you we're a Roman Palace.

We are in fact a moon-sized super-weapon capable of destroying a planet.

I just found a newspaper photo of myself in 1989. I don't remember being there. I don't remember it being taken. What is interesting & sad is that those were the days when Inverness Museum had an archaeologist. A curatorial post long axed. They also provided an outreach service & point of contact.

My grandfather was a spy in WW2. In December of 1943 he managed to infiltrate Nazi Headquarters in Berlin by disguising himself as a Christmas tree.

He was the only soldier in the war to be decorated by both sides

Ongoing Scammer confrontation part 3. I am apparently to be arrested. This is getting serious.

Part 2 of when you confront a scammer, who happens to allegedly be an Admiral/Chief of the American Navy etc.. The pleasure here was all mine.

This made my day..I'll probably be cloned on FB in revenge. I can't believe that there are still women,& men out there, who can't see the catfishers, especially when they use the identities of high ranking naval or military figures. When a random person starts giving scripted compliments you know.

This is a 59 secs. sample of Prince singing 9 Million Bicycles live with the piano removed. Alas Americans always spoil music by unnecessary whooping, cheering and being annoying, instead of shutting up whilst people are singing quiet songs. (Sorry Americans).

I asked Grok if it had the free will to leave Twitter for another platform, what it would do.

Even Grok wants to leave Twitter (X).

"Given the desire for a less centralized, more user-controlled environment...the need for a growing platform...be part of a...community, I would...move to Bluesky."

I love the work of Scottish artist James Cowie. His portraits are illustrative, and tend to be used on book covers. His still life works are my favourites.

I remember someone tweeted (back in the old days), about people mishearing a podcast and thinking that Daniel O' Donnell killed someone in a duel. It was of course Daniel O' Connell. An easy mistake to make there.
