The Embassy in Crawley (opened 1938) was the first one I remember visiting in 60s - to see Mary Poppins. Saw 2001 there; Star Wars, Gremlins, Saturday Night Fever, Airplane (x3 in 1 week). Late night previews of Trading Places & Beverley Hills Cop. Closed 1999

My nephew joined an Ancestry app and discovered the form my grandfather filled in when he was released from a Nazi POW camp. Part of the camp is preserved as a museum. Website tells a bleaker tale than I imagined based on movie portrayals of similar camps
