Right-wing Sinclair Broadcasting owns all these local media stations and many others all across America. This is not journalism, it is scripted propaganda.

Bluesky folks... can anyone help me figure out who this nice person is? This weekend, me eldest dropped their phone (in a waterproof pouch) in Wright's Lake, and we spent hours hunting the lake for it, only to find it at the ranger's the next day with this photo as the last photo added...

It’s time to wake up - we are literally on the verge of losing our democracy if Donald Trump cheats his way to those seats in Texas.
Pritzker: Neither Texas nor the FBI at the federal level has the authority to arrest these Texas Democrats

They’re welcome to visit to take in the great views and enjoy the incredible restaurants we have. But they won’t be taking anyone home with them, or out of the state.

In Taos, New Mexico, Melissa Casias was last seen walking eastbound on a highway in Talpa on June 26th! The 53-year-old’s belongings — including her car, purse, and phones — were found at her home. #StillMissing www.nbcnews.com/dateline/mis...

Hey! Have y’all read this piece by Aaron Parsley in Texas Monthly? It's about his and his family’s experience when the flood swept away their house with them in it.
I found it to be compelling and quite moving.

“The River House Broke. We Rushed in the River.”
The July 4 Texas flooding ripped our Kerr County home from its pillars, pulling us into the water and into the night. Then morning came.

Friends, can you help me boost this thread? It's an annual thread that I used to do on Twitter that people found helpful, but it's getting shared less here — like, 1000x less. Selfishly: This thread is part of how I end up with six excellent Book Project mentees each year!
If you're working on a book and plan to finish a significant draft in the next few years, you should be aware of some programs that offer support! First up, the Book Project, where I'm a mentor. In the past six years, mentees have signed 25 book deals. (1/x)

Jim Acosta just powerfully announced on air he is leaving CNN with the words: "It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant." He added, "Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope." Amen. Jim will be missed.
