I don’t like the Yankees but a lot of people I love do like the Yankees so I don’t actively root against them unless they are playing the Mets.

But between you and me, I’m really disappointed in the people I love who chose to be Yankee fans.

Andrew Cuomo going on David Paterson's radio show on a station owned by John Catsimatidis to complain about losing the mayoral race by blaming Curtis Sliwa - who is this for? Who gets enjoyment or enrichment out of this? How sad is that person's life?

I’m one of those #Mets fans who is more sentimental than competitive and I hate to see Brandon Nimmo go.

I loved the way he would take a ball and hustle to first as if it were a single. Just a tremendous work ethic. I used to tell my kids, “be like Nimmo.” 100 percent every time.

Rewatching season 2 of the wire (the one about the docks)

And also Pluribus

And it’s like everything is an allegory or a cautionary tale about AI

Also I spent the past two days bossing around the LLM that will eventually replace me.

I guess one way to distract people from your friendship with a sex criminal is to claim that you are friends with a political murderer.

I am a big fan of both transit and new housing but I gotta admit that I’m quite bummed to hear that the latter will replace the municipal parking lot at the grant ave A train station. It was just a godsend of a compromise for travel between the Rockaways and the city during off-peak hours.

Ok so a book comes out that I really want to read but I hate hardcover so I try to wait for paperback but I put myself in the wait list at the library anyway and by the time the paperback comes out I’ve read it for free.

Explain the business model to me.

Cuomo Backers Burned $65 Per Vote, Including $13.3 Million From Bloomberg
A blizzard of outside spending on ads, including a spot that linked Zohran Mamdani to 9/11, failed to move voters and may have even backfired.

For all the anger at the pitiful Democratic leadership, rank and file Democrats seem to be demonstrating that they are actually in charge of the party and will set its direction. That is a good thing. The GOP belongs to one man; the future of the Democrats is up to every Democrat.
