My partner & I were trying to ID a bird we heard while walking and the guy who had stopped his car to let us pass got out and was like "it's a frog, actually. Cope's Gray. I do frog surveys... Sorry" And then got in his car without a word and drove off. Absolute king

The Blue Deer for #ArtAdventCalendar Day 13.
An inkpainting of a white fantasy deer with blue highlights. The legg and neck are very long and thin, the tail is curled. The eyes are very large, blue and rimmed in black. The horns are tall, and instead of being spiky, the tips curl into small spirals.

"The Long Walk II" My Galway city painting that prompted a friend's young son to ask why there were giraffes walking down the street, and ever since that's all any of us can see - including at the actual street. First exhibited in Cork it hangs in a good home in Dublin. #SpeirGorm #ArtAdventCalendar
Landscape format. Against a dark blue painterly background in a band across the centre is a bright terraced row of houses, 2 and 3 storeys high, simplistically rendered in plain rectangles with soft corners and similar single-colour marks for windows and doors. Below them runs a wide very dark blue band of a quayside wall, and below it the not quite as dark blue of the water with very slight hints of reflections. Each house is topped with a slanted very dark blue roof. Left to right the houses are white, grey, red, ochre, yellow, white, pink, deep yellow, pale yellow, light blue, cream, and red-brown. All windows are doors are dark blue except for the grey house where they are off-white, and the centre white house where the door is red. Roofs of other houses behind are visible. In this 5 minute sketch of a bull I was trying for that loose, scribbly style. His downturned mouth hints at grumpiness but it's probably resting bull face.

Black pen and water soluble black/dark green/pink wash on white, sized paper. Very low road bridge over the canal, with a cantilever arm/weight on the left hand side, that allowed the bridge to pivot up sufficiently to slow us to pass under. The bridge is down level, so the road barrier on the right hand side is in the up position. And the down position cantilever is pointing up at ~30°.
