Pre-ECHR, rights were almost completely at the whims of the current parliament - which doesn't always represent public majority. The Bill of Rights of 1689 could be very easily abolished by parliamentary majority.

The ECHR created a set of rights that have an external guarantor. That's the point.
Leaving the ECHR won’t “Take Back Control” – it will hand your rights to politicians
The myths are seductive, the reality is very different – without the ECHR your freedoms rest on whichever Home Secretary wakes up grumpy

The UK electricity is already the most expensive in the world.
Price set to rise again in October as Ofgem's pricing formula lets companies rip people off.

Trans people aren’t the issue, immigrants aren’t the issue. Your life is shit because of billionaires, who brainwash you into hating or blaming scapegoats so you won’t turn on them.

If you buy their bullshit, well done, you’re about as intellectually advanced as a medieval serf.

“Gender critical” beliefs are worthy of exactly the same respect that society affords “race critical” (aka racist) beliefs: none at all.

And expect that number to shrink further.

No matter how much the government, major parties, or tabloid press push “Brexit benefits…”

People know Brexit doesn’t.

Brexit leaves the UK in a structurally weaker position, bleeding money, time, efficiency and opportunity daily.

“It’s an immutable characteristic!” they yell, in crayon.

Yeah? Well so is being brown, Gary.

Starmer/Reeves should prepare UK for wealth tax, say top economists.

Long overdue.

Top 1% have more wealth than 70% of population combined.

Laws bent to help the rich - privatisations, PFI, corporate subsidies, capital gains and dividends taxed at lower rates than wages, unchecked profiteering.

Remember all that fulminating in the billionaire press about "free speech" (ie their freedom to abuse Muslims, trans people etc with impunity)? Now that people are being arrested for speaking about an issue of the utmost gravity, the self-appointed guardians of liberty have fallen strangely silent.
It's utterly mad.
These people are the opposite of terrorists.
THEY WANT PEACE.
The police know they're not terrorists.
The government knows they're not terrorists.
Yet, on the Home Secretary's orders, they're being arrested under the Terrorism Act.

It is absolutely absurd that Diane Abbott has been suspended for this.

She's describing the lived experience of anti-Black racism.

She wasn't saying Jewish people and Travellers don't experience racism. She's saying that racism takes different forms.

1) they represent the super wealthy
2) you may as well ask a rabid pitbull if he *wants* a muzzle
3) if u own a UK utility company & u leave because of high taxes, the asset stays, tax that or take it back = lower bills.
