I know firsthand it was a nightmare coming home tonight after the winds that came through at midday.

Every train platform on the western suburbs line was *packed* in both directions.

Passengers were angry about the lack of communication.

"The train network is essentially at a standstill after […]

These pics capture so much of what's wrong in the world today.

It's BP using a crane to replace a perfectly functional fossil fuel price sign with a new one, because of a brand refresh. On a six-lane stroad.

@hacks4pancakes Visa fraud can block your way to a visa not just for that country, but for many other countries.

More than once have I been asked questions like "have you ever been denied entry/a visa in any country?" Or "have you ever been deported from anywhere?"

They don't ask these […]

This isn’t targeted at anyone in specific - I have had the conversation like 6 times this week,
Americans -
You need a work visa to work in another country, -even remote- unless they allow digital nomad
You can’t just go to most countries on a tourist visa and start looking for a visa sponsor & job

Parramatta Council proposes a thing and... It's not awful.

The issues are there's currently not /really/ any live music venues in the designated area, per se. (But maybe this could be a catalyst?)

"Restaurants, bars and live music venues could be allowed to trade for longer in Parramatta, with […]

Casual reminder to go and press that "export data" button on Mastodon.

You can backup your list of follows, blocks, lists etc, so if you ever have to start all over again on another instance you can pick up right where you left off.

Today’s historic pic: The neo-gothic style Mortuary station, now Regent Street, Chippendale, NSW, June 8 1985. Built in 1869 as the Sydney terminus for funeral trains carrying coffins and mourners to cemeteries, it last served funeral trains in 1938 and later was a platform for rail parcel vans.
