Being in Aus (and lazy) didn’t see it live but I wonder, did Munster come alive once they realised Leinster were there for the taking or was it Leinster ran out of steam and let Munster back in. Either way to TRKs point Munster should be far happier of the two
Not too downbeat about that loss. I've been to enough dour losses to Leinster in Thomond Park over the years. This one felt different. Like a few different calls in the last ten minutes turn it into four points, rather than one.

To me this smacks of a child saying ‘I have a plan to clean my room’. Me the parent in this analogy is shouting ‘just clean the damn room!’

It will get to a point for player safety that attacking players will learn to stand up bolt upright to avoid injury (or risk mitigating potential cards) which will mean less scores but it is seemingly the only safe way out of this situation
I'll just say I'd rather watch a game where there are red cards every week for high shots than one where, with everything we know about CTE, early-onset dementia and potentially even MND, the players' safety is rated below entertainment as a refereeing priority.
If you didn’t see the game, watch the genuinely insane leaps of common sense, physics and duty of care that all four officials are fully in agreement in making to class a dynamic, avoidable shoulder direct to the head as a rugby incident.

Angus O’Brien is all of us here. It’s genuinely shameful.

Want the real headline behind the headline? If we processed applications within normal ranges like most countries can, asylum would likely be manageable. We are literally fixing the effect not the cause
This is neither an overhaul or tighten. Asylum seekers make up a small proportion of inward migration. They’re also the worst off. Making their situation more painful to appease a few morons who believe refugees make their own lives worse, it’s brutal

why has the term Big Irish Head become so ubiquitous when 'Gael Skull' was right there all along

Last time America went after Oil, Operation Iraqi liberation and ‘OIL’ was the joke title; for this maybe Venezuelan Industrial Liberation & Encirclement and VILE could be used?
Rep. Salazar on Venezuela: "We're about to go in ... we need to go in ... Venezuela for the American oil companies will be a field day"

Have only watched Highlights #IREvRSA did Ireland just not learn lessons or prepare for Carley as ref? Like did Carley wake up this morning and think ‘Fuck it lets create a new game called cardball’ or did he ref as he always does and one of the teams just didn’t prepare.

Potts mentions [Ireland] have one of the smallest stadiums in the six nations. What he didn’t mention was its also one of the newest; cant imagine forecasting for the stadium at that time didn’t include value projections including projections for a bigger stadium.

Lots of talks about the age profile of the current Irish squad and the age of last generation retired at. Biggest difference is last generation had something to prove at biggest stage. Current players have won grand slams, Heineken Cups etc and perhaps nothing to prove.

Today I found out the Aussie version of ´(British) Countdown’ is called ´Letters and Numbers´. I knew the music show known as Countdown but not about ‘Letters and Numbers’

Two things the Irish opposition could do right now (and a third it could have in its pocket for later).
1) call on government to make a suppression order under Offences Against the state Act. A suppression order makes a group an ‘unlawful organisation’ under that Act. 🧵

The article states almost emphatically that it’s down to injuries to Aki and Henshaw; maybe Farrell disagrees for me he deserves a shot regardless of injuries. Same for some of the other centres www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/...
Farrell: McCloskey deserves his shot against All Blacks
Andy Farrell says Stuart McCloskey's start against New Zealand on Saturday is a long-overdue reward for the Ulster centre's patience.

According to recently published RTE article ‘[the Boomtown rats] went on to become the first Irish rock group to reach No.1 in the UK singles chart with Rat Trap in 1978.’
The only part that makes this accurate is the term rock group but they weren’t the first irish people with a Uk number one. A 🧵

Aki is kinda the proof that there is a way blood players and keep results; Henshaw, Ringrose was the centre partnership until injury forced a change, Ali then came in and prevailed so much, hard to imagine him not at 12
The easiest way to fix the housing market is to build new houses, but doing that lowers the value of homes.

The easiest way to fix Ireland's ageing core is to try out new combinations in full, in proper Category A games, over the next year, but doing that risks losses, which make it untenable.

The town named ‘Youghal’. It does not rhyme with the name Dougal but pronounced like the phrase Y’all.
What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?
