Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Just heartbreaking
This letter appeared in the Bloomsburg PA Press Enterprise this morning. I am assured the writer is who he purports to be, an Air Force veteran.

What could go wrong?
Musk appears largely unshackled from ethical or oversight constraints despite wielding enormous influence over the American government and despite his businesses being deeply intertwined with the U.S. national security apparatus.
Did Trump Quietly Kill a Sensitive Pentagon Probe into Elon Musk?
The New York Times revealed last year that Musk and SpaceX failed to meet federal reporting requirements for Pentagon contractors. No one has asked: What’s going on with that today?

If this country actually hired people based solely on their competence and merit we sure as shit wouldn’t be looking at the second term of an insurrectionist felon fraud who saddled our country with $8T in new debt, lost the most jobs since Herbert f’ng Hoover, and let 500K people die on his watch.

As much as I’m not a Politico fan these days, I am a diehard #PeteButtigieg fan, so I will prop my chin on my hand and listen to him wax poetic about nearly anything.

One day, I hope to vote for him on a national ticket. We won’t deserve him, but I hope he’ll have us anyway.
