For example a child of school age in UK is required to be schooled. That is seen as for the child’s benefit, but it is defined by the obligations on the carers and individuals.

It does however circumvent the child’s freedom of movement.

As the child develops so does its independent human rights and the obligations of carers and the state.

One could call them human rights but they are defined by the duties.

Take a new borne baby as a start

What human rights does the baby have.

It seems to me that is a silly q as a baby has no independence.

The question is what obligations do the primary carers and the State have to that child.

It must start with caring for the child and ensuring full development.

Interesting.

Do children have the full set of human rights or are they curtailed by benign obligations placed on adults and the state?

This is just nonsense from the Daily Mail (yes, Burnham might think it is feasible but he - or his advisors - are deluded). But might the Daily Mail possibly have an ulterior motive for pushing this narrative?

I don't always agree with Starmer.
However:
He's easily the best PM we've had for 14 years.
I like that he's 'solid' rather than charismatic.
His international profile is strong.

Feck off with the challenges.

Despite recent Tory removals, changing PM mid-term when he commands a majority would be unusual

And a fair amount of why Starmer is disliked comes down to malice from Corbyn fans and Russian manipulation

Just try to remember the Mail bears Labour only malice....

Boy are some on the Left naïve!

Billionaires RW Press pushing the narrative that Starmer will be replaced because they are worried that he is fixing UK ands relationship with EU. hard yard have been done.

Lefties falling for it because they are always more comfortable protesting rather than actually doing anything.

This is not a sign that Ukraine is winning the land war, but its an important sign that the doom laden narrative (ukraine has "no cards" Ukraine will collapse) is wrong. Watch out, this narrative is being used to try and convince Europeans that Ukraine must take a terrible deal.
