It is increasingly weird to read hugely popular psychoanalytic texts and see my professors cited in them. I know my profs are legit, but it's hard to connect the cited expert to the real man I know who is probably (as we speak) excoriating my 20 page history final. Perks of being a Derner student.

Just in case you thought that removing DEI criteria would mean that everyone is competing equally: NIH is removing grad students from underrepresented backgrounds from the applicant pool altogether. Their applications will not be considered. Other students, not from these backgrounds, will be.
