I’ve talked with several friends in the industry and there’s near-universal agreement that if you took the 200M+ budget of a AAA game and split it into 15M chunks to small fund games you’d be a Hyper Business Genius in the industry’s current mode
Game publishing is so dire right now that if you took $1m and gave 20 weirdos $50k each, you would instantly be the most successful publisher in the world because you inadvertently funded two whole Balatros
Look, it’s really straightforward to get a publisher as a new name indie in 2025. Simply do 95% of the work making and marketing your game, and if your metrics are trending towards almost certain success, a publisher will swoop in to promise the remaining 5%, deliver 3%, and collect 75%

it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."

man no offense but someone's reasons for remaining on the Hitler website are stuff like "i can't lock my account" and "group chats"—as a person who is annoyed this website doesn't have them—that is really fucking dumb and they should genuinely feel bad about it, because it's a moral deficiency
