None of this is a “known fact.” It’s a thing you read about in tweets about idiotic thinkpieces like this and took as gospel.

You can get adapters to use wired headphones on iPhones for like $10 at 7/11. Maybe some people use them for fashion, tons of people use them for other reasons. Even if that one guy is wearing them for fashion it means nothing.

I listen to music all the time while reading, the headphones are meaningless. There is zero reason to assume any of these men are reading to get laid, it’s idiotic. One of them is at an airport for Christs sake.

People are, consciously or not, deeply ashamed to be as hopelessly addicted to social media and slop content so anyone seen consuming anything other than that MUST be putting on airs.
