The idea for magnetic couplers came to N. Tesla in a vision. And I love that on a few levels. He had a poem and 13 cents to his name when he arrived, US. He had the decency to hate Edison. Tesla is the embodiment of everything every man in a grey flannel suit is not (and is very bitter about).
