For forty years, we were told that Britain didn’t need manufacturing — finance would make us rich. That experiment failed. We import more than we export, our towns are hollowed out, and our prosperity rests on hot money and property bubbles rather than what we make..

Aviation expansion is a disaster for the climate crisis.

Anyone who's been paying any attention to this shambles of a Labour Govenrment knows they don't care about people in poverty, don't care about nature nor for the planet.

Just big business & their own interests.

I’ve been frustrated to see so much of the ongoing story about asylum seekers and the protests against them covered without hearing from those seeking asylum and now being met with hostility and hatred

I set out to speak to those directly affected to find out about the impact this is having 👇
We escaped war and torture but now we feel unsafe in Britain
Special report: Amid protests and rising aggression towards asylum seekers across the country, we spoke to those being targeted

Riding bikes is 10X more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities. And that’s just the climate emissions. Doesn’t include the massive public & personal cost difference, the air & noise pollution difference, the massive space difference, etc, etc. Via @theconversation.bsky.social
Cycling is ten times more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities
Active travel can help tackle the climate crisis earlier than electric vehicles – even if you swap the car for a bike for just one trip a day.

If it takes three working class lads from Belfast to stand up for people being murdered, then what does that say about the state of politics and politicians in the UK?

It's clear that quite large sections of the right - including some well-known politicians and newspaper columnists - actively want an explosion of violence this summer.

And if it comes, they'll stand there clutching their matches, petrol cans and aerosols saying "we told you so".
It’s completely extraordinary that after the riots of last year, the populist right are trying to whip up hatred of asylum seekers again. Utterly shameful.

Do you reckon that if Jeremy Corbyn had had his house set alight by arsonists, all who turned out to be eastern European male models and alleged sex workers that the media would have ignored it as they have done with Keir Starmer or do you think they might have concluded there was a story there?
