A cursed patch of grass, that caused an insatiable sense of hunger & weariness upon anyone who walked over it.

Why is is so hard for people to say these words?:

Lough Neagh, the UK's biggest lake, is being killed by *livestock farms*.

They want every company to be afraid of hiring anyone who isn't a white cis man.
Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

Exciting news as oil firm announces major Irish expansion plans. In other news, fossil fuel burning is accelerating us towards irreversible #climate breakdown.

Ah well, have a Wendy’s burger, it’ll cheer you up.

As I said on my pod with @chrislhayes.bsky.social, one of the main reasons the industry is so vigorously pursuing self-driving is that it frees up the driver's attention, which means you can serve the driver ads. Self-driving cars are going to be ad-mobiles.

A storm is a great time to steal a trampoline from a garden.
They'll assume it blew away.
But they won't look in case it killed someone.

do you know how hysterical you sound claiming that a guy who endorsed germany's neo-nazi party, unbanned neo-nazis on his website, reposts neo-nazis daily, endorsed the great replacement, and whose family emigrated to south africa in support of apartheid, intentionally gave a nazi salute? absurd!

This 25million dollar house makes you click through 21 stunning exterior shots because you're not prepared in any way for what the inside looks like. A maniac designed this place. It's worse than Michael Jordans bizaarely personalised 50 million mansion that they couldn't sell

1. There are many things I’m glad to leave behind on X, but most of them come down to this: loyalism. Regardless of ideology, those who tend to be most abusive, unpleasant and vicious are staunch loyalists of particular figures, factions or policies. 🧵

The luddites were also probably the largest domestic insurgency Britain has ever faced, with the crown cracking down on the movement hard. Large numbers of luddites were exiled to Australia.

The fact they're seen as anti-tech fools is a result of deliberate propaganda succeeding.
At risk of repeating myself: The Luddites weren’t against technology. They were against getting put out of work by a technology that did a version of their job faster but worse, in the service of increasing profits for their bosses.

I keep warning you that generative "AI" is a threat to the processes of making & certifying knowledge & consensus reality, thus leading us to the verge of an epistemic & heuristic collapse of just catastrophic proportions but y'all keep slathering it on yourselves like it's butter & you're corncobs

I never cared for Sonic. What's his job? Hedgehog? That's not a job, that's a species.
Being a plumber, now that's a job. Having a brother who's taller than you, that's the kind of adversity that builds character.
I know nothing of Sonic's siblings, or of their sizes relative to him. Nothing at all.

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.
