Mastering a dextrous tool such as an elephant's trunk takes time and Zigi — at only five weeks old — is still very much in the stage of finding his trunk to be simply fascinating!

Zigi is one of 76 known wild-born elephant babies. You can read about his birth and mum Zongoloni at: t.co/30rvMSVFg8

This morning, Pardamat got left behind! He was dawdling around the compound — no doubt snatching leftover food from his friends’ bedrooms — and completely missed the rest of the herd’s heading into the forest.

When he finally caught up everyone rushed over to check on their truant friend.

Canadian doctors returned from Gaza and are sharing what they witnessed and lived.

They are demanding action from Mark Carney.

Their testimony is our failure.

Rascals ❤️❤️
Lenny and Sulwe like to be in the thick of things. When they see the Keepers trying to direct the orphans, they promptly volunteer their support… only to get distracted, start fighting each other, and then launch a fly-by assault on the camera — things escalate quickly!

In 1890, the Tariff Act came into place in the United States. It placed tariffs on imports of up to 50%.
While touted as a way to build American industry, there was also the hope it would force an annexation of Canada. It backfired.

On this day in 1965, the new Maple Leaf Flag was raised at Parliament Hill for the first time.
But getting to that point was very difficult. It was a divisive debate to create the flag, that went on for months.

Beautifully silly babies 🥰
Incoming! Korbessa goes all in, taking up her signature 'frog pose' and sliding down the sandy bank of the seasonal Mtito River. She’s clearly ready for a dust bath—and judging by the excited reactions around her, the rest of the Kaluku herd is eager to join in the fun!
