Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

I gave myself the WORST paper cut today. Taking the plastic off a calendar by running my index finger across the open end, like an absolute idiot, and got a paper cut under my fingernail. So dumb and stupidly painful.

Great interview with Sean Fraser just now. He is a class act and I’m just thrilled that he’ll be back in the House. I’ve known him for about 20 years and always thought he’d be PM some day, and I still think so.
