NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

No kidding.
I am constantly appalled at anyone who voted for Trump for *any reason.* I cannot ever accept their moral objections over anything, ever.
It all would have been much easier if, as would have happened if we were remotely a serious country, it all ended with the Access Hollywood interview.

Don’t really have time for the “no one’s doing anything on climate, we’re doomed” people to now pivot to “we’ve gone from 3.6C to 2.6, still doomed.” You do not declare a war over because you haven’t won after the first handful of battles. That is called “surrendering”

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.

now I'm reminded of the guy who they named Cincinnati after who was twice appointed to be dictator of Rome during wars and both times ended the crisis in like 2 weeks and immediately resigned his dictatorship to go back to his farm and follow his true passion of growing cabbages

As said elsewhere: it turns out the only thing unrealistic about a Bond villain is that there'd be a James Bond trying to stop them.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

It’s a strange situation when we’ve established the POTUS is a criminal, we’re just trying to find a crime his party wouldn’t be okay with.

Earnest post: there is increasingly direct evidence that Trump participated in child sex trafficking or at least knew about it.

He should resign, be impeached and removed from office, and prosecuted.

Even if you don’t think that WILL happen it’s important to say publicly that it SHOULD happen.

So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.

This is how I feel about the Epstein files.
I doubt their release (even assuming it actually happens in any way that matters) will make one whit of difference.

The GOP are fascists. They don't fucking care.
We’re playing this game where everyone knows Trump knew but Republicans are like “Betcha can’t prove it, though!” And then we have to go find direct evidence.

He knew, you know he know, they know he knew, he knows he knew. Everyone knows. They just don’t think they have to care unless it’s proven.

Me (5 seconds later): oh, they're us. The villains are us. Right.
