When gale warnings go up across the Great Lakes, this is a great tool to visualize what is going on with these crazy winds. There is a tightly wound up low pressure over Minnesota right now. earth.nullschool.net#current/wind...

Freedom is keeping your own money in your own pocket. The billionaires take our money and return a small percentage to society, and we are supposed to see that as generosity.

Nearly half a million people now live in RVs, more than twice as many as were doing so in 2021.

Priced out of traditional housing, more Americans are living in RVs
Moving into an RV may seem like a way to save money, but it can come with unexpected costs and trap families in a cycle of debt.

Our laws are broken, data centers should not be licensed to operate until there is enough new energy production geared for them, and paid entirely by them. But they want to socialize their energy needs.

The data centers, however, would likely exacerbate many of the issues that residents who live in the region are already facing.

Data centers often increase electricity costs for residents, and they also consume large amounts of water.

What do you do when you find out there's a proposal to put a data center at your feet?

This made my day! Libraries rock!

Due to rising food costs, the 5-second rule has hereby been extended to 10 seconds.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Nobody has time to fight everything. Pick the things that you care deeply about and focus your energy on those issues. For me it is supporting independent journalists/other resisters, protecting our natural resources, fighting for sensible health guidelines and health care, and supporting libraries.

Take every opportunity to remind big corporations that if the middle class fails, we are taking them with us.

Laying in bed this morning wrapped in my favorite blanket, listening to the birds song is void of the usual comfort. Yesterday, I heard the government had plans to invade more cities. I'm not okay with that. The fascist regime is trying to steal every last ounce of my hope. I can't let them.

I always believed you should never lose hope. Without hope, you have nothing. The political climate is challenging my hope meter in a bad way. Diminishing hope is baked into fascism. It's 4:10 am, and I can't sleep, but I can't let them steal my hope for a better future. I have to stay strong.

The “big beautiful bill” is a reverse Robinhood move (stealing from the poor - giving to the rich), so Elle Cordova remade Roger Miller’s “Oo-De-Lally” song from the Robinhood movie seems perfect.

Congrats to the GOP. They f*cked their constituents to keep Diddy Rump happy.
We won’t forget.

1/ Want to support Ukraine more, but your budget insists on less? There’s a way: You can donate a few hours a week of your time to help a Ukrainian practice their English Speaking skills, by Zoom. Why? Ukrainians tell their own stories the best, and need skills to better adapt & adjust to the world

🚨 The Dept of Defense is shutting down its weather satellite program. No more data. No more updates. Meteorologists are scrambling—and we’re heading into peak storm season.

Yes, let's chat!
The majority of people —56% in the US!—are worried about climate change, but not activated.

Why not? Most feel helpless, hopeless, and don't know what to do. So more fear won't activate them. Rather, knowing what to do—and being invited to do it—will.

Where to start? With a conversation today. 🧵
