There is so much to be said about All's Fair on D+ most of which I will leave to people paid to comment on tv, but I must highlight Kim Kardashian in what started as a great waistcoat look, and then, and then she stood up...

After a little sulky chat with myself, and some very warm and practiced encouragement from P, I took myself off for a run (repeating C25k), and it does help that some of the possible views are this beautiful. #morningwalk
A wide, blue sky scattered with clouds coming in from both sides, the light of the rising sun just out of shot, looking out across an extremely green field to a far landscape of still more fields, and distant hills. Empty, quiet, a touch unnerving, but beautiful.

Picked up the sock knitting for the first time in about six weeks... I want to get good enough at this to eventually knit with my handspun... #knitsky
About 3" of knitted sock ankle on a 25cm circular needle. 10ish rows of ribbing and the rest is knit through the back stitch which I've apparently mistaken for proper knitting for all this time. Brash pink acrylic.

So here's the Jacob's I'd prepped so far spun up (3 eps of Alien Earth) - tried to let it be a thicker gauge than I usually spin, but kept forgetting. It's not the most even but it has a lovely halo. Going to prep some more now...

Went out to apologise to the trees and I feel like they are now delivering us their finest work to emphasise that they are the best trees
11 red and green apples of some kind of traditional Somerset variety. They'll yellow and become waxy in a couple of days, cook down into an apple sauce in seconds, and make for a floury bite.

stabbed my thumb on the carding combs again but have a handful of lovely rolags made whilst talking nineteen to the dozen at @thatteacat.bsky.social at the end of work today. Jacobs fleece, which is wiry, but pleasant.

have gone for full Recovery Time, existentially exhausted. Hard meeting was weird. Starsign said I should be more unapologetically myself: starsign, I have not been so myself since 1998.
Decaf espresso, large glass of red wine, three bars of chocolate (Top Deck Cadbury's! Caramilk! Galaxy!), and a pen, there's always a pen. A distant small TV in the corner of the living room clearly showing they're watching Suede live again on the YouTube

Today's spinning! My rolags spin much better than they look - they're comprised of "the random fleece I found at the bottom of various fleece storage bags". Trying to tidy up my stash a bit before opening fresh bags... #yarnsky #dropspinning
Ratty and unevenly-sized rolags of mixed fleece which, despite their unevenness, have a very nice blend and have caught together well. A lovely mixed brown and cream yarn spun fine onto a pleasing wooden drop spindle

Harvest o'clock! Not pictured: a ton of Bramley apples and another heap of eating apples. There's a full stone of damsons there, I am awed by the tree - this was just off the lower branches! 🌱

Back at the knitting once more and the way this tests my ability to count to two is unbelievable, also, that ability is alas flawed. I think I'm going to have to trust rhythm over counting at some point in my knitting journey or I will never learn... #knitsky

Breakfast, and I'm thrilled to report that even the green ones were absolutely stunning in flavour. Going to go out and harvest every last one we can after this! #food 🌱
A stainless steel bowl of halved cherry plums (we think!) in beautiful green, yellow and orange-to-red. You can see the sugary deliciousness in the way the cut halves shine in the morning light.

This evening's garden rat must absolutely GET OUT of the chard!!!!! I do have sympathy, it's dry as hell outside and we've all got to live but sir I left you windfall apples and plums please make your way to the rear of the garden dinner is served 🌱
A large brown rat with a nice long tail is clambering over the edge of my galvanised steel planter which contains some struggling, but still edible, rainbow chard

🌱 Well, I had thought these were going to be greengages, but they taste like the sweetest and most delicious plums I've ever had! Amazing. Does anyone know exactly what they are/variety etc? Definitely going to try and work out how best to replicate this tree...
A willow basket filled with a single layer of small stone fruits, varying in colour from green, through yellow, to a reddish purple. A single fruit next to a 20p for scale. The fruit is approximately 1.5 times the 20p in diameter.

The Wensleydale yarn I dropspun earlier this year has now been piled and wound! It's super soft and I'm really pleased with it, although now I'm not entirely sure what to do with it...

A wooden niddy-noddy wound with a good weight of dropspun two-ply creamish white Wensleydale yarn. A closer look at the Wensleydale yarn on the niddy-noddy - despite the pace with which I spun it, it's come out reasonably even with a fairly consistent twist. A couple of little bobbles but overall I'm very pleased with it!
