I just learned how far behind #Novavax is for getting approval in Canada (they only applied September 1st!) so I think I’ve got a new strategy for COVID boosters: Moderna in the fall, and Novavax in the spring. Not my first choice but perhaps most expedient. www.canada.ca/en/health-ca...

1st lab assessment of BA.2.86, from Yunlong Cao’s group. Marked immune escape features of this variant, as expected by mutations, but low cell infectivity should dampen transmission potential
This is very good, but still possible BA.2.86 can evolve, pick up new mutations to be more infectious
