An incredible group of people I met today! Everyone was so nice and even though the public weren’t the most receptive to the leaflets (to be fair I think any leaflet campaign is tough) none of the volunteers complained!

A new phase II RCT for #LongCOVID / #PostCOVID in the US by the company BioVie with their drug Bezisterim.

clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT068...

Bezisterim is currently also being studied in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. This is what it says on BioVie’s website about their LC trial.

Today we wrote to new minister Ashley Dalton MP, urging the government to “recognise the urgent need to prioritise the millions affected by Long Covid” as the condition continues to affect lives, add to the pressures on the NHS and impacts the economy.

We hope that in your new role, you will recognise the urgent need to prioritise the millions affected by Long Covid-a condition that continues to devastate lives, put pressure on healthcare services, and impact the economy. As core participants in the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, Long Covid SOS has played a key role in representing people with Long Covid and ensuring their experiences are acknowledged. We have highlighted the lack of public awareness, the government's failure to account for Long Covid risks, and the need for greater research and healthcare funding. With many patients feeling forgotten as the world moves on, we continue to advocate for long-term support and policy change. At Long Covid SOS, we hear daily from people struggling with the long-term effects of the condition, many of whom feel abandoned due to a lack of medical support, research, and treatment options. Access to specialist care is already inconsistent, and now we're seeing Long Covid clinics closing, leaving even more people without the help they need. This is unacceptable. These closures not only disrupt care for those affected but also increase the burden on GPs and other frontline NHS services, which are already overstretched. We believe the government must act urgently to stop further clinic closures and ensure those with Long Covid are not left behind. Continues in image in next post in thread
