A friendly reminder that Elizabeth Eddy has played in a grand total of just 19 NWSL games across the past 4 seasons.

Eddy is suffering from Riley Gaines Syndrome in this piece. This is nothing more than the bigoted rambling of a bitter player who just isn't good enough to start at a pro level...
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...

Eddy spent majority of her NWSL career in the shadows of Black women and watched them become successful. She is finally saying the quiet part out loud. IDK how else to explain it to y'all

The Rose City Riveters continue to stand with our trans siblings in and out of the stadium.

We call upon the NWSL and Jessica Berman to condemn the statements made by Elizabeth Eddy and take steps to protect their players from hateful rhetoric like this. #BAONPDX
🏳️‍⚧️ Today, and every day, we stand with supporters groups across the NWSL to say - loud and clear: Trans People Belong.

In the stands, on the pitch, in our communities - everywhere.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and celebrated.

No exceptions. ❤️🖤

The NWSL's silence on its gender eligibility approach has invited harassment of players — and now, an op-ed from a current player calling for "a clear standard" to address a problem that doesn't exist.

NWSL’s lack of gender eligibility policy leaves players vulnerable – just not in the way you think

- This is mostly just racism
- There are no trans women players currently in #NWSL
- There is no public proof any NWSL players are intersex, which is of course not the same but we see conservatives often intentionally conflate the two
- The only out trans players ever in NWSL were AFAB and are masc

maybe if the league had backed up their players under this specific type of scrutiny there wouldn’t be a space for this type of thing. i would LOVE to see the response to this be education on the subject but i won’t hold my breath.

Raise your hand if you forgot that Elizabeth Eddy was still a rostered player in the NWSL. ✋🏽

This is some bullshit on SEVERAL different levels. It conveniently ignores the former openly trans NWSL players because it doesn’t fit the anti-trans/“save women’s sports” propaganda and fuels the hatred towards Black women who play in the NWSL (it wasn’t just Banda who was targeted by those people)

Also, protect Barbra Banda, and Temwa Chawinga, and anyone else who doesn’t fit white femininity or white feminism at all costs. Even their own literal colleagues in the league apparently.

Im not gonna link to that article because I’m uninterested in amplifying the outlet, story or player that wrote it. But a reminder: trans women are women and advocating for women’s rights while excluding a group of women is exactly the kind of divisive rhetoric that is driving hate in this country
