I hate asking for help online, but we can save her if we can only get the money together for surgery. We've been through it with health problems with the humans in the family and now our poor dog is sick as well. I know money's tight everywhere, but if you can help we'd appreciate it greatly.

This is my sister's fundraiser. This dog is just the sweetest, and it's gutting that we can't afford this surgery because she'd be fine otherwise. Please, anything anyone who sees this can do to help, it'd be so, so appreciated.
Kaylee had her surgical consult and CT scan yesterday. I've got a lengthy update here: www.gofundme.com/f/save-sweet...
The short version: She could live several more years if only we can pay for the surgery. Any help is so gratefully appreciated. #uglydogs

Even a battleship can use a rubber ducky.
Today is National Rubber Ducky Day! In 2014, the battleship USS Iowa encountered the world's largest rubber ducky at the Port of Los Angeles during the Tall Ships Festival. The floating duck sculpture was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

A bit of good news in this incessant parade of awfulness coming out of these California fires.
After the Palisades fire burned down his home, Casey Colvin feared the worst for his dogs, who he couldn't get back to despite desperately trying. But after five days, he and Oreo finally got a tearful and ecstatic reunion. "I'm never gonna let him go." 14/10 for all

That's a really awesome color pattern. Looks like an anime or video game creature come to life.
This is a Melanistic Fox one of the most beautiful and most rarest in the world.

Yup, you can tell where dogs evolved from. My border collie does the exact same thing.

This is so adorable.
This is Theo. He's always looking out for his older sister Mia. Sometimes that means simply making sure she gets enough pets at day care. 13/10 for both

having exactly (1) day out of the year where every amateur chef in America attempts to cook a giant bird and not fuck it up is, honestly, a wonderful and hilarious tradition

#OTD in 1961, USS Enterprise was commissioned, becoming the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. CVN-65 was the eighth U.S. naval vessel to bear the name Enterprise. The Gerald R. Ford-class carrier CVN-80 currenty under construction will continue the tradition.

A belt buckle, so worth it. Ugh.
Disgusting. Did you know Alberta is in the midst of a wolf killing contest? Hunters can win a cash prize for the "best pelt" and - wait for it - a belt buckle. Wow.

The AB Trappers Assoc is also offering bounties - $250 per wolf killed (up to 400 wolves throughout AB).

Man, that feeling when you are writing a short story and introduce a new character for the fun of it, and they wind up completely breaking your plot outline, but in a good way.

I look at a picture like this and I remember I'll never understand how someone can hunt wolves.
We could all use a fuzzy hug today 🤗

I think the highlight of the Beetlejuice sequel is how much fun the cast looked to be having making it. Catherine O'Hara looked like she was just loving getting back into the role.

Twitter is... yeah. Facebook's algorithm is complete hot garbage. Don't really like all the others for various reasons. Heard good things about this one, let's give it a try.
