There is this strange mentality that WWE is cool and AEW is nerdy. As if to non-wrestling fans all wrestling isn't geeky as hell! Deciding what you like based on what a 80s teen movie villain would decide is cool or hot doesn't seem like a useful way to go through life.

Seriously, Joe Manganiello considers his extreme wrestling geekdom a point of personal pride. I interviewed him once and he was BEAMING talking about how his friends consider him their personal walking wrestling encyclopedia.

No, no no no, that's WHY we need to preserve this shit, that's why things like commercial collections are important in framing the moment, showing us what we were being sold, what politics were being fed to us.
