I think I'm starting to dial in what I want Malu to really be. Underdrawing for the next card front / page.

Did I just spend $200 on Garbage Pail Kids cards? Maybe I did. Don't you judge me.

Trading card test prints I made into stickers. All-around success! Awesome to hold, and look great as part of the sticker bomb. Glossy color prints next?

Individual shots of the sketches, with the saturation pushed way up, which I think helps heighten the weirdness.

Neon skeleton sketchbook spread, presented both in social media photo style, and more straightforward.

"Larry Daring"

Tons of unused colored pens and markers, sketchbooks full of half-finished pencil scribbles of odd little dudes, and a little downtime -- a winning combo.

In my pocket today.

A 1:72 scale (about 25mm) Dark Alliance miniature figure of an undead warrior.

Sandahl Bergman's Valeria is one of the best characters in all of fantasy fiction, across all media. I will love her forever.

Why is Conan the Barbarian not available to watch on any streaming? Travesty.

Sometimes I really miss 90s castlecore. And by "sometimes" I mean all the time.
I’m unironically obsessed with this mail order catalogue of gothiique items put out by by Cher. Pure battlesistercore

Working on Malu, my "forever" comic project, which I've been chipping away at, but I haven't talked about much here.

These are the pencils redoing (again) the cover painting and the first page/panel.

Getting back into webcomics after so long away, I find the harsh/thoughtful critique of peers has softened from what it was before the scene was centralized and commodified. Gentrification of art is a real bitch for a lot of reasons, but all the dishonest politeness is especially insidious.
Reading about the writer/critic/reader culture of 60s/70s New Wave SF will blackpill you forever against the "literary citizenship" of 2020s internet writing, and not just the Indie Lit stuff but all adjacent genres (horror, SF/F) aspiring to LitFic's humble online hamlet of midwestern schizophrenia

The final Flash Gordon Sunday strip by creator Alex Raymond was published on April 30, 1944. Raymond had left the strip to join the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.
