for those that don’t know - my mother-in-law has been fighting terminal breast cancer for 4 years and we cared for her on hospice. she passed away a few days ago and sadly we are stuck with the financial hardship that comes after someone passes.

The concept of the 'deserving poor' is capitalist poison. Your worth isn't determined by how hard you fight or how much you suffer. My worth is non-negotiable. Aid isn't a reward for being a 'good' survivor; it’s a necessary tool for being an alive survivor. Solidarity disregards the purity test.

Last I heard, there were about 40 THOUSAND nurses in Washington State alone not working in healthcare. We need better legally mandated staffing minimums & surge capacity in major hospitals.
That would force hospitals to entice nurses with better pay & benefits & working environments.
