Minimize exposure wherever practical. Follow the ALARA principle: As Low As Reasonably Achievable. This is the key principle of radiation safety as well.

Chuck Schumer and ANYONE who supports him need to be ousted from the party. The same way they wrongly treated David Hogg should be the way that Schumer is treated now.
What was the damn point of the shutdown? People missed paychecks, families went without SNAP, and Democrats walked away with nothing.

The best part of this is where Senators have declared that the U.S. government WAIVES SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY when a Senator sues the government for not giving notice of an investigation.🤡
I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

WHAT HAPPENED?
In the multistate SNAP case, Judge Talwani will:
- keep USDA's 11/8 order that states "undo" full payments or face penalties stayed for now
- issue a TRO mirroring the RI case TRO to protect states directly
- likely address an error states say USDA made in its partial payment tables

I hope it is a no, GEO group needa to be held accountable for forced labor practices.
Today the Supreme Court heard a very, very technical case about whether a government contractors (in this case, private prison company GEO Group) should get essentially qualified immunity for contractors (I'm oversimplifying). The answer, it seems, will be no.

Trump asks supreme court to throw out jury’s finding in E Jean Carroll lawsuit
Writer and author had testified, and won, at trial that the president had sexually assaulted her in the mid-1990s
Donald Trump asked the US supreme court on Monday to throw out a jury’s finding in a civil lawsuit that he sexually abused writer E Jean Carroll at a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s and later defamed her.
Trump’s lawyers argued in a lengthy filing with the high court that allegations leading to the $5m verdict were “propped up” by a “series of indefensible evidentiary rulings” that allowed Carroll’s lawyers to present “highly inflammatory propensity evidence” against him. Continue reading...

The point of the shutdown seems to have been to stall the Epstein vote until Thanksgiving so Grijalva's vote wont force the release of the files.
There's a special election in Tennessee on Dec. 2nd that will likely give Republicans the votes they need to prevent the release of the files.

So we make a deal that allows several Republican senators in key states to vote for ACA subsidies next month and get political cover back home, but not enough to pass it. Sounds great.
