For as in absolute governments the King is Law, so in free countries the law ought to be King; and there ought to be no other

– Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
“If I were President Trump, I would almost think about, OK, if the mayor and the governor are going to put our ICE officials in harm’s way, and there’s a chance of losing more, you know, innocent lives or whatever, then maybe go to another city,” Comer said
House Oversight Chair Suggests Trump Pull ICE Out of Minnesota
Rep. James Comer was the first prominent Republican to urge Trump to consider local officials’ requests for respite from his administration’s aggressive immigration crackdown.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

I live next door to Crow’s district, and I gave the max I could to his initial campaign (something I am proud of).

I wish he represented me (I have a careerist for a Rep) and I think we need more Democrats like him
As a three-time combat veteran, I get pretty damn hot when a five-time draft dodger like Donald Trump pounds his chest and bangs the war drums.

America is over it.

No more sending our sons & daughters to fight for oil.

So Republicans view the National Weather Service as favorably as ICE

IMO if the NWS shoots people they would be the most popular government agency with Republicans
Net favorability among Democrats | Republicans of...
ICE −68 | +57
FBI −4 | +34
CDC +26 | -7
FEMA +39 | +6
TSA +22 | +27
FDA +23 | +26
FAA +34 | +40
NASA +59 | +44
NWS +66 | +59

The same parcels ignored on Thursday also received no bids in December, demonstrating that those areas in Jackson, Moffat and Garfield counties may be undesirable for drilling.

“There are no oil and gas companies that think that it’s profitable to lease them, even at 10 bucks an acre,” Weiss said.

I called Polis’ office and sent info to my (voting) daughters regarding this. Peters is unrepentant and her age is immaterial

If you are a Coloradan you should let the Governor know you thoughts on this as well
Governor Polis calls Tina Peters’ prison sentence ‘harsh,’ renewing clemency conversation
Pressure to grant leniency to the former Mesa County Clerk has been mounting for months.

This should be obvious at this point.

Make a point to make this clear, in every way possible
Stephen Colbert on the ICE murder of Renee Nicole Good: “The message from this administration is clear. Only they determine the truth. And when their forces come to your city: obey or die. And if you die, you clearly didn’t obey. This should be an alarm bell for the entire country.”

Worth a read if you want to get a sense of the goals and (it related) actions of DOGE
Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2

I have held the opinion that UK’s Brexit and Trump’s tariffs are similar in their self-degrading nature

I expect the same RE the U.S.
Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

It is worth a read, and an excellent means to memorialize the facts for later prosecutions
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.
