Read this piece. I do not think Karp is hard to understand, and this oped does sum it up

No one in their right mind would have anything to do with Peter Thiel except if they were only driven by money. This has always been true, and Karp is no exception

He could walk away now if he wanted

Via open secrets. IMO this is just direct pac money, not individual money and not dark money. Notable is how much they paid DT and yet he chose to not pay ATC staff

I think of all people in the whole damned world, Newt Gingrich is not someone who should be doing hot takes on who ‘won’ a shut down. He thought (and so did others) that he ‘won’ the ones he caused

Wild! Like as if they could imagine a future in which religious nationalists would become ascendant and cause civil war

Oh, wait: that was the ENGLISH CIVIL WAR

I just googled her parents, under the assumption that someone that worked for Feinstein got her job the old fashioned way, through money.

A similarly predictable development: the 8 Senators that thought this would NOT happen will not change their votes

One of those bar conversations you don’t want to continue

“What do you do?”

“I do cryptocurrency”

I cannot speak for others but I gave money to a DC metro food bank that had some specialty in serving federal employees and I also gave to food bank of the Rockies (since I am in Colorado). The latter was coincidentally matched by my employer. I realize also not everyone can do that :(

King is not a Democrat, notably. That said, if Schumer were actually upset at him he could strip his committee assignments and give them to Democrats

See if that happens :D

Shaheen’s take is that no one was talking to her about talking about things, and this was a good reason to shut down the government

But now they have talked to her about talking about things, and therefore, as a nation, we have won something

I am a life-long Coloradan and my parents were very active in (Republican) politics at every level they could be. If you like petty political behavior, caucuses are for you

But I agree: as an affiliated voter you get to choose who the unaffiliated voters get to choose!

Funny. The word ‘free’ is taken as a despicable thing, except when it applies to taxation and vague reasons to wave a gun around
