One Travesty After Another
shocked to learn that the president lied about this and also this is a horrible defacing of a building that belongs to the people of the United States, not donald trump
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

What movie do you consider “perfect”?
September 21, 2025 at 1:00 AM
Hell yeah
Disney has Tron: Ares, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, Rental Family, Zootopia 2, Ella McCay, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and Is This Thing On? opening this year. I hope the talent involved in these movies curtails all planned publicity until the company reverses its decision about Kimmel.

RIP to one of the best. I've been editing a book on All the President's Men and the vision, talent, charisma, and stubbornness that made him great is on full display.

Went to buy something at my local bookstore and they said “your books came in.” It took a second to realize they meant MY book. I haven’t gotten my copies yet so it was my first time seeing them. I bought one and they’re not on sale yet so I think I got the first copy of my own book.

Take away all the GOAT candidates: The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Lost.

What’s the best show outside of that group?

He earned it! Kaplan's Plot is brilliant.
Seeing Kaplan’s Plot on The Millions books preview list means everything to me. I’ve been reading it for so long and never thought I’d write a novel, let alone one worthy of the best book website’s most anticipated books list.

Chris Nashawaty wrote a great book on this called THE FUTURE WAS NOW from @flatironbooks.bsky.social. Just sayin'
On this day in 1982 both Bladerunner and The Thing were released in the US. Both flopped and were not received well. Both have gone on to be recognized as classics and have redefined their genres. I feel like today should be a holiday for lovers of movies and everyone who has ever failed.

My hottest NYC take is that a challenger to Eric Adams running specifically on “making it easier to raise a family in NYC” could build a multi-racial multi-class coalition that would absolutely take him down. www.nytimes.com/2023/10/11/n...
