Huge thanks to those intrepid Blueskyers who are highlighting and summarizing the fecal exhibition that is the current ACIP meeting. You are all deeply appreciated. It’s an absolute 🎪 and listening to just minutes of 🤡 after 🤡 mutter and ramble is beyond my tolerance level.

I know this is pedantic AF. But Russia hasn't used the hammer and sickle blazon for decades. They use the double eagle, similar to their former Imperial emblem. (End rant)

Updated the story from yesterday, thanks to tips.

Jonathan Cagle is DANGEROUS. He is in ALABAMA.

He is blaming the Jews for "murdering" his grandpa via Covid lockdowns; wants them dead.

An absolute loose cannon. The FBI has my full report

The ongoing illusion of persecution of Christians is essential to non-denominational evangelicalsism. "Worldly" is evil. Christians oppose evil. Therefore, if Christians are persecuted, it substantiates that the world is evil. The theology requires feelings of persecution.

Yesterday, HHS staff got an email from the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) -- yes, the office for civil rights -- asking about “anti-Christian bias” in the workplace ✨.

Reminder...Christians are the majority religion in the U.S.

Gaslighting level: federal.

Fully support free libraries. One of my old neighborhoods had free pantries too. Non-perishable and shelf stable food free to all takers.
Just saw one of these at the Seattle Airport!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: I got a copy of Trump's MRI. Oh, wait. It's defecography. Even seasoned radiologists could confuse the image with an MRI of Trump's head. 🤷‍♂️

My Indigenous fellow Americans may rightly disagree. But... Although there have been many summary murders of POWs by American armed forces, I can find none that were committed as an official policy. I'm open to being found incorrect.

Yes! This! I still shudder when I remember the infectious disease course in medical school when we were shown grainy films of people progressing from first symptoms to death from rabies. 😬
Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

A needed pause from politicians and politics... This may be my fave skeet of the day, as a devotee and maker of homemade kim chi. 🤤
my phone time in bed before sleeping tonight is gonna be looking at kimchi recipes as well as various pickle and fermentation recipes... i'm planning on making fermented cabbage for yule and i also want to try making kimchi, and always seeking inspiration for different pickles

I assume she means everyone who isn’t white.

Europeans have had repeated experiences with authoritarian regimes. Americans have not. The French, Italians, Germans, Dutch… would have launched a general strike last January. Americans are in denial or are hoping “someone else” will step up or rescue them while they go shopping.

Social media has all but killed the concept that someone whose typical position is deplorable may be, on another occasion, entirely correct about something else. Such people value ideology (demagoguery) over truth.

The corporate masters and their lackey press are working overtime to downplay that consumers are not mindlessly consuming during the traditional peak buying season. Keep up the pressure. Buy even less. Target is feeling the pain. Make others feel our economic power.

I remember the stories my father (z"l) told of his WWII experiences in the Navy. His ship was sunk, and the Japanese planes returned to strafe the survivors with their machine guns. I remember him shaking with anger about it. Hegseth isn't a war criminal. He's a garden-variety murderer.

Outstanding thread. I recall when AIDS was officially "GRID" (Gay-Related Immunodeficiency Disease). I also remember Brokaw, Jennings, or Rather solemnly intoning, "Concern is mounting among doctors, as more non-homosexuals, and even children, are diagnosed with this rare cancer."
A 🧵 on #AIDS in the 80s/90s:
I was 15 when I first had sex with a man.
I’d snuck off to London’s Heaven nightclub with the express intent of ridding myself of my ‘gay virginity’, a goal I achieved easily with a visiting American photographer.

This 💯! Most American homes send 40-60% of the food brought home to the landfill. There is a Buddhist expression which applies: “See the vegetable you cut as a 16-foot golden Buddha.” In other words, treat food with reverence.
It is imperative that you put on music and dance in the kitchen while making a big meal because the animal that gave its life, the pain and exertion of the people who picked your vegetables, all deserve to be honored with joy and reverence
