Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?

There is a certain “burn it all down” impulse that is sometimes articulated under the guise of abolitionist, antiracist, anticolonial, or anarchist politics (ask me how I know) that is too often divorced from the practical question of whether you’re actually prepared to survive societal collapse.

I’m struck by how close we’re getting to finally curing some of the world’s worst diseases—sickle cell, Alzheimers, pancreatic cancer, etc.—at the same time that the world’s worst people are destroying medical research and care around the world.

Maybe a hot take but I really want for the collective to think larger than a single-day economic blackout.

These efforts need to be localized with alternatives (small biznesses/community sharing) over a longer period of time, showcased by boycotts of the past.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

The absolute absurdity of a White House consultant employee emailing the entire federal workforce with anything, much less a demand, is straight up laughable. Touch grass dude.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

I don’t like that when I tell people I commute on my bike that they instantly bring up how unsafe it is and how people die. Like thanks! I am gonna go pedal away now!
