For #RandomGameSaturday I present to you WarioWare: Snapped! for the Nintendo DSi.

It uses the DSi's camera to perform head and hand tracking, so you are going through the minigames by moving your hands and tilting your head.

It's a bit janky due to the hardware limits, but *super* creative.

I think I have a pretty solid theory now, after reading over Backup Katsuyou Technique Vol 3 last night.

Wait, Momoi Haruko released a new mini album in October and not a single one of my feeds mentioned this? Every algorithm is broken. #桃井はるこ

Yeah, this one is notable for having a small assembly routine that updates the PPU scroll register so that the background scrolls as you fly through space. Nifty hi-score name entry, too.

I do wonder where they found out about these hardware registers back then 🤔
Nice one @ximwix.net ! There aren’t many “series” in type-ins, and it’s always fun to see how the author progresses as a programmer and how they fit them together. For Star Dust, you take off from a planet in 1, and have space battles in 2 and 5. 3 and 4 still need to be typed up.
Star Dust II type in game by Star Dust II for Nintendo Family BASIC has been preserved by @ximwix.net. Enjoy! www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/11/s...

One last Halloween beer review.

Spring House Brewing Company Braaiins! Pumpkin Ale

Lovely can art. Hits the Halloween beer flavor profile, but not sure how else to describe it. It's good.

I got to walk around my neighborhood at night, in the crisp autumn weather, while wearing a skunk kigurumi. Not something I'd expect to be happening in my 40s, yet here we are. #halloween

If there's one good thing about this timeline, it's that we've somehow normalized having twelve-foot skeletons set up in our front yards.

Dang, Winter beers already on the shelves. Christmas festivities before Thanksgiving are unforgivable. But for Mad Elf? Perhaps exceptions can be made.

I want to put all of the things that I don't want to do into a pressure cooker. I want to be done with them more quickly. Press that button, fight with the lid, deal with the steam. Are they done? Yes, quite tender. Get them on the plate before time runs out. Blended work paste.

Halloween beer review.

Lancaster Brewing Co. Baked Pumpkin Ale

Tasted like an apple crumble dessert. Sweet but not sickeningly so. Apples, caramel, cinnamon. Quite tasty, really. This is exactly the kind of weirdo seasonal beer I'm after.

Tröegs Master of Pumpkins Ale

This is the one I wait for every year. Tends to be very forward with the clove flavor, but apparently that is exactly what I look for in a seasonal beer. Smooth, not watery. An easy favorite.

He would quiz me, like, "name the band" or "name the song". Moved on to "name the singer" and "name the guitarist" when I got good at it.

Cape May Brewing Co. Pick of the Batch Pumpkin Ale

The cashier told me that these were selling quickly. Very smooth. The spices are well balanced; quite noticeable but not smacking you in the face. Subtle but not bland. Perhaps my fave of the season so far.
