The way that housing co-ops work in Switzerland may seem foreign to many. But the central idea is simple: What if homeownership had no profit motive and no capital gains? Advocates say their model could reshape how the world thinks about affordable housing. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/r...

kind of funny that americans think that once you become mayor, you can just enact sharia law. like zero understanding of the legislative process. just raise your hand and say "ok it's sharia time now"

The stupidest people are in charge because we couldn’t prosecute a political crime because it would look too political.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

One of these days we're gonna have to reckon with the fact that "money that I spend which does not directly benefit me is a waste" is a popular sentiment.

I think we should state plainly that this is selfish on its face.

And stupid when you have awareness which extends beyond your nose.

The thing about YIMBYism is that it actually does work.
So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

North American streets rely on signs and personal responsibility instead of self-enforcing design. This fails to protect vulnerable users, like kids, and restricts basic mobility for those who can’t or don’t drive. True safety means designing for everyone, not just cars.
Multiple drivers failed to yield to these kids waiting to cross even after they activated the the RRFB. The speeds on 30th Street are too damn high!
