a) ICE/DHS would not be defunded
b) GOP would go hard on immigration for 4 yrs
c) Dems would increase funding to be "tough"
just kicking the can.

This is also why I get driven mad by Sanders banging the "we have to fight illegal immigration" drum as it frames it as an inherent problem for society with only one solution: more fences, walls, and (ultimately) lethal enforcement with massive economic barriers for the "right" way.
Immigration is not a problem. Like I’m sorry but you literally have an intellectual deficiency if you think immigration is a problem. Like I think you should be kept in a fucking padded cell and studied by science so we can prevent you happening if you think immigration is a problem.

As the bill moves to the Senate, Democrats have a responsibility to draw a line. Putting actual guardrails on ICE is the bare minimum here. Allowing Trump’s brutal secret police force to operate with essentially a blank check is unacceptable.
