All through Angel's Egg last night I was thinking how much its use of architecture and sculpture must have influenced Utena. Turns out it wasn't just an influence, Shichiro Kobayashi art directed both anime!

Background from Utena. A surreal gap between buildings in the rain, filled with soaring modernist arches on either side. In the center is a large rose bush with random thin crosses poking out.

i admit to being slightly annoyed that "chatbot psychosis" is becoming accepted terminology for something that isn't really psychosis in the sense that we've used it to describe an organic medical condition prior to this. i feel like we need different terms for cult/groupthink/chatgpt/etc delusions
