Never change Jacobin, you light at the bottom of a deep deep abyss
Establishment Democrats spent a full year complaining the Left forced them to be “woke.”

But then a left populist, Graham Platner, threatened to win in Maine, so they went right back to trying to cancel someone over old internet posts.

I've been telling you that nine years ago
I think Bernie should retire. He is a terrible judge of character and he has shitty stances on immigration.
No, Bernie, sending squads of goosestepping fascists to conduct mass raids and terrify entire communities is not "better." This is a godawful take and you should feel bad.

Hassett is neither a trade nor a political economist, but when he worked on corporate taxation his papers were showing that taxes are massively passed through rather than absorbed by suppliers
Kevin Hassett's theory of tariffs: "China has got to sell a lot of stuff to us to maintain political stability. And so if we put a tariff on their stuff, then they cut the price so that our consumer is basically still able to demand as much stuff as they need to sell to be politically stable."

"wildly popular"
October 24, 2025 at 12:19 PM
How is the candidate who is polling at 45% in an extremely democratic city "wildly popular"?
It should be career-ending for the House minority leader being unwilling to endorse the (wildly popular) Democratic nominee for New York City mayor.
WATCH: @chrislhayes.bsky.social asks Rep. Hakeem Jeffries who he plans to vote for in the NYC mayoral election.

Trump's deep understanding of economics at display here
Trump said US wouldn't help Argentina if his "favorite president" Millei doesn't win reelection. This backfired. The peso tumbled. Millei's opponents railed against US extortion. Govt rushed to try to assure Argentines that Trump wouldn’t abandon the nation based on Milei’s political fortunes
Trump Offered a Helping Hand to Argentina. It Backfired.

He is indeed a former president, among other things
BREAKING: Google AI is announcing that Trump is currently the former president.

Always trade-offs. It would also maximize the size of the set of annoying people it would make happy (as does mentioning "trade-offs").

Soccer is a globalist sport and it is hard to imagine an organization better equipped than FIFA in navigating corruption. Trump stands no chance.

DHS: Where was this lead pencil made?
ME: State of Washington, mines in South America, Malaya, and other places I don't even know about, by thousands of people who don't speak the same language, practice different religions, and might hate each other if they ever met
DHS: denied

You might sneer at that, but you should not. He has in fact unparalleled expertise on using language that incites violence and terrorism.

Bsky gloats about Milei, but if you read about it, it is more subtle and not quite what people here think. His reforms require commitment and seemed to be working. He has the commitment, but voters don't and the likely outcome is another failed attempt to reform out of Argentina's permanent crisis

I sent this social democrat to this exile here that nobody visits to keep him away from the public
@wwwojtekk.bsky.social gave me my Bluesky code because he is a secret proponent of social democracy.
"oh yeah? well I gave him his invite code!"

Sociologists for Bullying
I would vote for someone who promised to give Steven Miller an atomic wedgie live on national TV.
Miller is such a loser. Just extreme "I need a swirlie" energy radiating off him at all times.

Technically speaking, blackmail is not regulation
This really is the final expression of "libertarianism" as it is practiced in the US today.

My favorite conversations are when people invoke market failures and it turns out that it's true, except that the failure was created by government policy.
