A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Quick thread on how it is shocking the government has supressed this report, but it is equally shocking that anyone should be surprised by its contents.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear— it WASTES public money to NOT do it.

The Home Office’s new TikTok account wants you to see migration through a negative lens.

We refuse this toxic narrative. Migration is a positive force in this country.

Plaid Cymru and the Greens are surging in Wales, according to this latest poll.

Where’s the media narrative around this? Where are the stories saying Farage is failing? When will Labour try to regain ground by appealing to Plaid & Green voters, not just copy Reform?

If US threats towards Greenland continue, European countries could refuse to refuel American ships in European ports, require higher payments for the stationing of US troops — or even close US military bases.
US intentions towards Greenland threaten NATO’s future. But European countries are not helpless
US threats to annex Greenland following the attack on Venezuela should be taken seriously. European countries have important leverage they should be prepared to use.

For folks still struggling with the math:

There are ~345 million US citizens.

There are ~245 million white US citizens.

This is what they mean by "Peaceful ethnic cleansing." Their plan ends with deporting all non-white people.

Not "undocumented criminals."

Not even "all undocumented people."
This should not be shrugged aside. They have stopped with the fake 22 million illegal immigrants things and are flat out saying we want to deport 10's of millions of citizens and legal residents from "third world countries" Basically they are advocating removing 1/3 of the population on a gov site.

they've been convicted of no crime, are being held w/o trial, & have been on remand for over twice the remand custody limit

I have been made aware of two similar cases in the past couple of months...

Beyond the deeply unethical behaviour, I couldn't help but take it very personally as it showed how little respect the authors had for us as authors, editors, peers etc

I am still so incredibly angry about it
Closing out my year with a journal editor shocker 🧵

Checking new manuscripts today I reviewed a paper attributing 2 papers to me I did not write. A daft thing for an author to do of course. But intrigued I web searched up one of the titles and that's when it got real weird...

The treatment of the Filton24, and the hunger strikers in particular, is astonishingly cruel and unjust. One young man I know is in jail pending trial in *2027*. The mental toll on the accused and their families is despicable.
Eight Palestine Action activists are being left to die in prison – all without even facing trial.

We must force the government to act, before it’s too late ⬇️
