I think pitching my WIP will easily be the hardest part. The story currently feels simultaneously too niche and too simple. Super happy with it so far, and it's definitely a book I'd pick up and read... But is it marketable? Guess we'll see. #writingcommunity #writersky

Anyone know what the word limit is when querying adult high fantasy? I'm guessing my first draft is going to finish around 140-150k words. Too much? How much trimming am I looking at? #writingcommunity #amquerying #writers

Dracula x Pillars of the Earth x Gladiator

Marnom's devout faith is tested when he is forced to hunt down a killer who targets those who believe.

Cerna is raised by an apothecary in the woods after witnessing the murder of her father.

Both seek revenge. But what will it cost them?

Is the book done? No
But is it good? No
But at least you feel positive about it? ✨Absolutely not✨

I set a goal of 500 words on weekdays and 2000 on weekends. So far, so good. If I hit that goal every week, I could get a first draft of a 120k word book done every 4.5 months. That's not a terrible pace, right?

Hey #WritingCommunity, how many words do you shoot for a day? I used to be able to get at least 1000 without much issue. These days I'm struggling for 500.

Saw someone describe #writing as relaxing. I love writing, but that would not be high on my list of words I'd use to describe it lol. I think I spend more time frustrated than not (Not a bad thing, I enjoy the process, just saying). Anyone else?

Your dumb ass thinks you're going to catch me under a glass, slide a magazine under the bottom, and release my ass outside. Wrong bonzo. You're going to have to kill me.

Currently reading "The Pillars of the Earth", about half way through. Absolutely incredible book. Can't believe I've waited this long to read it. Who knew you could make the premise of building a cathedral this interesting?

I think one of my least favorite questions I get from friends and family is "What's your book about?"

Maybe I'm just too insecure with my life choices but I really do not know how to describe me religious vampires book without sounding like a total nerd 😂

A day of #reading, #writing, and watching the Denver Broncos. Sundays don't get much better than this.

I know the best writers are also readers, and I DO read, but sometimes it really just does not feel like I have enough time in the day to both read AND write. Can anyone else relate?

"Whatever you're writing, finish it. Even if it goes off the rails in the middle, even if you're editing as you go and the beginning doesn't make sense.

Finish it."

Just got done watching "A Real Pain" 🎬

Really incredible work. Love characters that feel as deep and real as anyone else I've ever met. Easily my favorite of the year so far, go see it if you can!

Hey #booksky , what are some of your favorite fantasy novels that recently came out/ are coming out soon? I specifically like character-driven novels, so if you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

#writing culture is getting into that flow state, pumping out 2k words, feeling great, and then waking up the next morning and reading it back only to realize it's terrible!

What's your elevator pitch sound like? #writers #writing
My current WIP is essentially sword and sorcery, except everyone's a vampire! Well, it's much more complicated than that, but we all need an elevator pitch...
