Dressing myself this morning and grabbing toward a t-shirt and my brain said "no, not that one, that's a SPECIAL OCCASION t-shirt" and then I sat my brain down and had a short little discussion about the fundamental everyday nature of t-shirts

In the bookshop this morning:

PARENTS: “Okay, we’re leaving now.”

CHILD: *pulls another book from the shelf and sits down *

CHILD: “Then I guess this is goodbye.”

@naominovik.bsky.social What the world needs now is the Temeraire series as movies or a TV series. When the U.S. president decides the history of slavery is "too woke" to be shared in our museums, we need Art more than ever to fill the gaps. Your work is exactly what we need. #HistoryThroughArt

In all my years of being married to my husband, he has never put the extra pillows on the bed in the morning after getting up. However, his favorite cat has decided this week that she likes this particular arrangement of pillows. Now they are on the bed in just this configuration every morning.

Today we honor what would’ve been Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 96th birthday. 🖤 Dr. King was revolutionary who fought for justice, equality, and love when the world needed it most. His fight isn’t over—it's on us to keep pushing, keep resisting, and keep his dream alive.

In a world where revelations about Neil Gaiman could have devastated me without repair, I'm grateful that the writings, wisdom, & Art of #ToniMorrison live on to bolster my spirit.

I'm listening to Dinner on Monster Island right now, read by the author. At about 40% in I'd concur that it's good stuff!

My first read of 2025 was Nico Lang's American Teenager. Lang's 9 months spent visiting with 8 Trans teens & their families led to a balanced work everyone should consider. Here's the link to my brief review on @thestorygraph.com

I'm always looking for something to get lost in, but I've become a bit of a book snob. However, now that I'm untangling from the GoodReads/Amazon web, what I really hope is to discover new authors. I'm tired of the algorithms attempting to feed me.
