An authentic/unbiased take on it is one where we see the “average German soldier”: a thuggish Aryan supremacist who never doubts Germany’s right to dominate the world but only slightly has a problem with murdering entire villages because it makes him feel slightly icky

The whole myth of superior Nazi technology that “I want unbiased WWII” schmucks always jerk it over is just that: a myth. In a sci-fi tale, maybe, they might do better than they did IRL where they still used horses to pull everything when the rest of the world had long since switched to trucks/jeeps
