🔊We are launching a NEW CAMPAIGN to stand against the government's plans to put ILR even further out of reach for most migrants (except the wealthy!)

These plans are morally wrong and will damage our society and communities. Stand with us to oppose them✊

🚨New research by the Migration Advisory Committee shows migrants who came to the UK on the Skilled Worker visa route in 2022/23 likely to make a +47bn fiscal contribution over their lifetime. Even the lowest earners excluded from the route after the July changes make a positive contribution

New NRM stats today show significant decrease in the time it's taking for cases to receive Conclusive Grounds decisions.

📉 As of the 30 Nov 2025 there were 6,749 cases awaiting a CG decision; a 26% decrease compared to 30 September 2025 (9,107) and a 77% decrease from the peak of 29,275 in 2022.

🚨Changes to immigration could wipe £10bn from the Treasury, reveals the government's impact assessment.

The losses are almost certain: older & disabled people will find it harder to get care, and between -£10.8bn and -£2.2bn will be lost in taxes; while the benefits are uncertain & intangible. 1/X

In her budget, the Chancellor set out plans to establish a 'hidden economy team' in the Fair Work Agency.

Could this signify a shift away from protecting the most vulnerable workers, and towards tougher immigration enforcement on behalf of the Home Office?

Following announcements from Rachel Reeves in the Budget, we are concerned that the Fair Work Agency's focus and resources are being shifted - not towards protecting the most vulnerable workers, but towards tougher immigration enforcement.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood's plans to create a temporary 30-month refugee status risk locking refugees out of good, sustainable work, and pushing them towards exploiters or traffickers.

One of Earned Settlement's plans is aimed at addressing a concern about those with ILR claiming benefits and that there will be a surge. ILR (with recourse to public funds) has existed for decades. Looking at the data carefully it's not entirely clear what the evidence is for the gov's worries.

The government's proposals to calculate settlement qualifying periods on a case-by-case basis will penalise migrants who get sick, are exploited or become destitute.

Rachel Reeves' decision to lift the two-child limit on benefits is a hard-won, long overdue victory that will lift 350,000 children out of poverty.

However, it will make no difference to children whose parents are migrants and subject to NRPF (banned from claiming benefits).

Shabana Mahmood's proposal to stop being told to "go back home" is to send people "home". Her proposal to stop black and brown people from feeling like they don't belong, is to bake in to the immigration system that they will never belong.

1. These changes will force refugees - people fleeing war, torture, persecution - into a state of permanent precarity for two decades. It is very difficult for people with time-limited leave to secure good work, as most employers look for certainty. Shutting refugees out of good work only... (1/X)
